Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a deep passion for sports. Whether it was playing on my youth soccer team, cheering my favorite hockey team or watching NASCAR races with my dad, I’ve always wanted to be involved in sports. Now that I have a B.S. in Communication from the University of North Florida, I want to take my love for sports and writing to the next level.
In August of 2017, I began a seasonal position with the Jacksonville Jaguars. During the games, I distributed statistics at the end of each quarter to TV and radio booths. After each game, I recorded player interviews and transcribed each one for media use. In 2019, I was promoted to Press Box Distribution Coordinator and I supervise a small team of game day employees.
For the 2017-18 season, I served as the Public Relations Intern for the Jacksonville Icemen during the club's inaugural campaign in the ECHL. As an intern, I created a media list, published press releases and coordinated with local media for interviews. I was also responsible for creating and maintaining the team's game notes package for 72 games. Additionally, I updated the team's social media channels and composed feature stories.
Prior to that, I had the privilege of interning for the Jacksonville Armada FC. During my time with the organization, I gained valuable experience writing, editing media graphics and working with local media.
When I’m dedicated to something, I work extremely hard until I have achieved the goal. That’s why I’m so excited about working for a sports organization or media company in a communications role. I look forward to bringing my skills in Microsoft programs, social media platforms and writing to my future career. I am a quick learner and I’m looking forward to increasing my knowledge, skills and experiences in the sports industry.
